Our approach to sustainability

Our approach to sustainability

At Alternicq, sustainability is integrated across the packaging lifecycle. From design and material innovation to manufacturing and recycling, our goal is to reduce environmental impact while enabling scalable packaging solutions for customers.

Our approach focuses on circular packaging systems, responsible operations, and continuous innovation through partnerships and research.

Project Earth is Alternicq's enterprise-wide sustainability transformation initiative, enabling the adoption of PCR usage across businesses, plants, and technologies to build scalable, circular, and environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

The initiative combines PCR recipe development, product assessment, quality checks, customer trials, and commercialisation processes to support PCR adoption across packaging applications. By aligning customer requirements with technical and operational readiness, Project Earth helps accelerate the transition towards circular packaging solutions.

Alternicq's recycling capabilities convert polyolefin waste into PCR Resin through a process that includes grinding, cleaning and washing, drying, colour sorting, resin production, packaging, and dispatch. Together, these capabilities support a more circular approach to packaging materials and manufacturing.

Circular packaging

Circular packaging

Alternicq is advancing a circular approach to rigid plastic packaging by integrating post-consumer recycled materials into production and expanding recycling infrastructure.

Our recycling facility in Bengaluru converts post-consumer plastic waste into high-quality PCR Resin used in packaging manufacturing.

With an annual recycling capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes, the facility supports circular packaging solutions and helps customers meet Extended Producer Responsibility requirements.

Responsible manufacturing

Responsible manufacturing

Alternicq continues to reduce the environmental footprint of its manufacturing network by expanding renewable energy adoption and improving resource efficiency. Solar installations and renewable power procurement are being scaled across facilities to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources.

Operational improvements have also reduced overall waste generation and strengthened resource management practices across plants. These initiatives support a roadmap to achieve 71% renewable energy utilisation across existing plants by FY27.
